How we calculate this

Formula: Annual cost ≈ the average of (your bill × 12) and that figure adjusted for home size and local rate. Savings = annual cost × the modelled reduction for the number of upgrades selected (capped at 34%).

Assumptions:

  • Your monthly bill is representative of the year, not a single peak month.
  • The home-size adjustment is anchored on a 2,000 sq ft baseline.
  • Each upgrade contributes a typical reduction drawn from DOE / Energy Star guidance — not a measured result for your home.

Limits: It cannot see your meter, your appliances, or your climate zone. Treat it as a ballpark for prioritising where to look, not a prediction of next year's bill.
